Cast Acrylic Purging Compound
Mechanical purging compound comes in granulate form, enhancing handling, storage and grittiness for cleaning.
Plaskolite, known primarily as an extrusion processor of acrylic sheet, has introduced OPTIX-Purge, a mechanical purging compound developed to reduce downtime between production runs. Made of 100% cast acrylic, the purge is said to eliminate material contamination and black specks, and flush out material changes between colors to eliminate residual color. It’s available in 1,500-lb gaylords or 300-lb drums.
Plaskolite says the material is a sustainable option created from recycled material which minimizes waste and reduces scrap generation. It is available in a granular form, resembling rock salt, which reportedly offers enhanced handling, storage and grittiness for cleaning without sticking to the screw or barrel.
Billed as a more cost-effective solution compared to competitive products, OPTIX-Purge effectively expedites the removal of impurities by physical means rather than chemical reactions.
Plaskolite called it the ultimate scrubber, meticulously designed to not melt, making it a premium cleaner for extrusion and injection molding.
