Compatibilizer for Nylon/ABS Alloys
CAI Performance Additives’ ST-AN3230 has shown to improve both compatibility and performance of nylon/ABS alloys.
A high-performance compatibilizer for nylon/ABS alloys has been launched by CAI Performance Additives, the sole distributor of high-performance additives produced by China’s Starbetter Chemical Materials. PA/ABS Compatibilizer ST-AN3220 has been designed to address the longstanding challenge of poor compatibility between nylon and ABS in alloyed materials.
Blending nylon and ABS offers both toughness of ABS as well as heat and oil resistance of nylon. However, this alloy is difficult to produce due to the poor compatibility between the two materials. Traditional compatibilizers typically fall short. The company says the ST-AN3220 can provide excellent coupling solutions for the nylon/ABS alloys. Such alloys have been demonstrated to offer several advantages over the widely used PC/ABS blends, including their low density, good matte effect, greatly improved heat resistance, wear resistance, chemical resistance, processing performance and a broad range of applications.
Customers are finding ST-AN3220 compatibilizer advantageous in applications such as automotive components, electronic devices and household appliances. ST-AN3220’s key features include high rigidity, low residue, low odor and improved compatibility and mechanical properties.
