Arburg introduces the new 310-ton model of the Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric series at NPE2024, extending the machine range and debuting a new model for the first time outside of Germany. Just 6-ft. wide, the Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric has a significantly reduced footprint compared to other machines in its class, according to Arburg, which is also selling the press on the basis of its economic pricing, ready availability and overall flexibility. Arburg says the machine is particularly suited for less complex products with cycle times of around 15 sec. or more. The machine’s thin profile has been achieved by accounting for nearly everything, including the safety door handle, which is now recessed to shave off precious inches. While trimming the machine’s width, Arburg notes that its stroke has been widened to 55.1", granting better access to the ejector area.
The smaller footprint enables the new Allrounder to fit into existing production grids and lines, while increasing the output per square foot for a molding facility. The Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric features a toggle-type clamping unit and direct drives from Arburg’s in-house servomotor subsidiary AMK. With an electric mold-height-adjustment system, mold installation heights of up to 31.5" are possible.
Drive components are optimized and the aXw Control ScrewPilot ensures repeatable injection and molded part quality. Two-stage mold locking provides optimized mold venting and, to ease maintenance, the new electric Allrounder features the same accessible control cabinet concept as the company’s hybrids. The lubrication unit and optional pneumatics are located on the operating side, and the part chute in the machine base has been widened to 33.5" for greater access.
At NPE2024, the Allrounder 310-ton 720 E Golden Electric, equipped with a Multilift V 30 robot and a size 800 injection unit, is molding PP razor covers in an 8.5-sec. cycle from a 24-cavity Hack Formenbau mold. Each cover weighs 1.2 g.
