Japan’s Nissei Plastic Industrial Co. Ltd. has combined its U.S. sales subsidiary Nissei America Inc. (Anaheim, Calif.) and its production subsidiary Nissei Plastic Machinery America (San Antonio, Texas) establishing the all-new Nissei America Inc. in San Antonio on July 1, 2021.

Nissei America Inc. was established Oct. 1, 1977, providing sales and support to the U.S. market for over 40 years. In November 2016, the company established a wholly owned production subsidiary in San Antonio, Texas to mainly fabricate larger tonnage injection molding machines. That 115,000-ft2 site officially opened in 2018 and has room to grow being situated on a nearly 400,000-ft2 lot.

In this merger, Nissei America absorbs Nissei Plastics Machinery and the company’s headquarters are relocated from Anaheim to San Antonio. In addition to consolidating the company’s North American production and sales of machines, the Texas site also features technical and service centers. In a release, Nissei said that the move to San Antonio places it in a concentrated center of automotive suppliers—a segment that has taken on increased importance for the machine supplier in recent years. It also gives it greater access to the growing Mexican market.

In addition to its 20 locations in Japan, Nissei has 39 overseas operations in 18 different countries. Globally, Nissei operates five machine production bases: Japan, the U.S., China, Thailand and Italy.
