New Chillers, TCU Touchscreen Control
NPE2024: Sterling’s GPL packaged chillers offer the new low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants required in 12 states.
Sterling has redesigned its line of packaged chillers. The new GPL line is available with two refrigerant choices: R-410A or R-454B. R-454B is a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant meeting new environmental requirements of 12 states that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2024. The GPL color touchscreen controller simplifies operator use, and the new product design enables easier access to wear components for regular maintenance. Available in both air- and water-cooled models, the GPL ranges in cooling capacity from 5 to 60 tons.
The GPL chillers use low-GWP R-513A refrigerant, which is classified as nontoxic and nonflammable, like the R-134A and R-410A it replaces. The air-cooled units are available in cooling capacities of 1, 2 and 3 tons. The new LHE central chillers also have two refrigerant options: R-410A or R-454B, with cooling capacities from 20 to 60 tons.
The new Sterling TS-5 controller has a 5-inch touchscreen that enables simplified control. Available with the TC130/TC131 series, the TS-5 includes USB data logging, standard ethernet and multiple communications options, with OPC UA/Euromap 82.1 capabilities included as standard.
