Experience Counts

If I were scaling a mountain peak, I would want to be confident that every member of my climbing team “knew the ropes.” You know what I mean: You want the best people in your plant on those critical jobs.

Experience counts, too, when writing about plastics processing. That’s why I am pleased that the newest member of PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY’s editorial team brings with him an outstanding record of experience in plastics reporting. Many of you will recognize the byline of Robert Leaversuch, who comes to us after 17 years at Modern Plastics magazine. He earned a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable reporters on plastics materials. At PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY, Bob will focus on the engineering materials beat, as well as on blow molding, thermoforming, and composites.

Our reporting team now averages 15 years in the plastics field. Among our reporters is Senior Editor Mikell Knights, who will now dedicate his attention to the injection molding, tooling, and CAD/CAM beats. Senior Editors Lilli Sherman and Jan Schut continue to report on high-volume resins. Lilli also covers additives and polyurethanes, while Jan writes on extrusion, compounding, and recycling.

As you read this, our newly reinforced reporting staff is chasing down technical news that you need to compete in this tough market. If there’s something brewing in plastics that you really want to know about, send me an e-mail.
