Meusburger Guarantees Continuous Delivery in Midst of Broader Supply Crunch
In the midst of a raw material crisis, the company says its 100% in-house production of plates and deep material inventory will help it weather the difficult times.
Austria headquartered mold component supplier Meusburger (Wolfurt; U.S. office Mint Hill, N.C.) noted that the global steel shortage has created dramatic price increases and supply bottlenecks, with the price of some steel grades doubling. Meusburger said in a release that it too has felt the effects, particularly as a supplier that produces 100% of its plates in house. Despite that, the company’s top priority remains to keep its inventory stocked so that its customers don’t experience delays.
“Our mission is to guarantee delivery availability through our raw materials warehouse – now and always,” Managing Director Guntram Meusburger said in a release. “That is why despite the current challenge, we will not stop purchasing raw material.” Maintaining a deep inventory has allowed the company to avoid price increases over the last six months. Given that prices continue to increase, however, Meusburger said some adjustments could be forthcoming. The company maintains a 24,000 m² (nearly 260,000 ft2) plate warehouse, where it stores various raw materials at the ready for further processing.
Meusburger maintains a large inventory of raw materials to support 100% in-house production of mold plates.
