Height Gauge With Added Features and Accuracy

The latest model to the Linear Height Gauge line from Mitutoyo America Corp., is the LH600F/FG Linear High Measurement System which has several added features and benefits, along with best-in-class accuracy using a high-accuracy scale unit and high-accuracy guiding mechanism manufactured in Mitutoyo’s own Japanese facilities.

The LH-600F now features a touchscreen interface that enables easy and intuitive operation, enabling users to measure with the press of a button or through touchscreen icons. The rotatable and adjustable display of the LH-600F also enables use from both front and rear orientations. There are new output options, including a Digimatic output that enables data to be sent directly to Excel or SPC software, wired or wirelessly, while maintaining USB and RS232C output capabilities. LH600F is said to offer advanced performance for reliable and easy 2-D measurement and features accuracy of (1.1+0.6L/600) μm with 0.1μm/0.5μm resolution/repeatability. Perpendicularity of 5μm and straightness of 4μm are guaranteed. The pneumatic full/semifloating system enables the LH-600E to be maneuvered easily around heavy parts.

Among several other new features are a new self-check feature that can detect dirt or oil on the encoder; instant changes to units, resolution and delta measurement from the previous reading; an air bearing system that makes it easy to move the height gauge around; and motorized capabilities said to provide better repeatability and reproducibility along with improved 2D mode to measure angles, bolt hole circles and more.
