Chen Hsong’s booth display includes an SM700TP injection molding machine. First launched in 2008, the SM two-platen, servo-drive injection molding machine series ranges in clamp force from 772 to 7,165 tons. Described as its “flagship machine series,” the SM700TP from the SuperMaster line has an advanced servo-hydraulic system for operational efficiency and precision. Compared to a standard hydraulic, Chen Hsong says the machine can cut energy consumption by up to 80%. The SM7000TP is the smallest in the line in terms of clamp force at 772 tons, with platens measuring 59 by 59" and max daylight of 90.55".

Speedwise, the machine ranges up to 700 mm/sec. in clamp open/close, with two core-pull and air-blow circuits as standard. It features a B&R touchscreen control panel for ease of use, and multiple customization options, as well as mix-and-match injection capacities with 14 sizes of clamping units and 14 different injection units. Die-height adjustment is possible in 20 seconds with optional ejector on the fly.

The new EH Series is the latest addition to the Spark line of hybrid injection molding machines, ranging in clamp force from 112 to 337 tons. Chen Hsong says the Spark EH series combines electric and hydraulic drive trains. Servo-motors drive the main axes, while an hydraulic system handles core pulling. The machine features an Auto Stress Release System (ASRS), providing dynamic adjustment to prevent molded-in part stress. The Agile Boost Control (ABC) servo system enables immediate reactions, and the AxP with floating-point toggle, protects molds with real-time adjustments.

All Adapt (AA) is meant to handle adjustments for ultrathin to thick-walled high-pressure parts. In terms of energy efficiency, the machines are said to use up to 12% less power. The quieter operation, precision pressure control and automatic lubrication make it suitable for cleanroom environments.

The MK6 PRO builds on the MK6 legacy, introducing a new control platform, fine-tuned mechanics and advanced hydraulics. Chen Hsong has a JM208 MK6 PRO in its booth. The series ranges in clamp force from 97 to 736 tons.

The JM Mark 6 Series is the next generation after the JM SVP2 Series from Chen Hsong. Retaining the best features from the JM series, it adds a faster and more robust platen and toggle design. The JM208 has 229 tons of clamp force 31.1" by 31.1" platens, a 20" opening stroke and max daylight of nearly 42". The MK6-series machines employ SVP/3 servo-hydraulic technology for up to 80% energy savings on average compared to older fixed displacement machines. Repeatability within 0.05% is possible in critical movement axes.

Injection pressures range from 21,000 up to 36,000 psi and are provided by dual cross-parallel, high-pressure injection cylinders with shot sizes starting at 4 oz. and going up to 109 oz.

The MK6 PRO also has a B&R touchscreen control. The new control has an ergonomic design and high-speed CPU for responsive and accurate operations. The clamping force adjustment provides mold protection, and in terms of connectivity, the machine has Industry 4.0 capabilities.
