New Line of Mold Temperature Controllers Feature Advanced Controls
Thermal Care says the Aquatherm RQT Series is available with three different control options: premium, advanced and standard.
Process cooling equipment manufacturer Thermal Care (Niles, Ill.) has launched the Aquatherm RQT Series of mold temperature controllers, which, according to the company, offer a number of control features and options unique to the market. The Aquatherm RQT Series is available with three different control options: premium, advanced and standard. Thermal Care says all units maintain consistent temperatures and provide real-time data, adding that the most notable controller option is the new PLC touchscreen HMI on the RQT Premium.
The RQT Premium and Advanced units monitor data and trends in digital pressure and digital flow via the PLC for greater accuracy and control compared to standard meters found on a typical temperature controller, according to Thermal Care. In addition, the adaptive maximum setpoint allows users to operate when their cooling pressures are very low, while adaptive pressure relief anticipates pressure changes to prevent pressure relief-valve activations. The RQT premium goes further showing detailed trending data, logs and charts for tracking performance and allowing processors to identify potential issues before they occur.
The RQT Premium controller also offers a Recipes function where users can store detailed instructions for specific materials or applications. Other standard features include: intelligent air purge, password protection, electrical phase error, and Modbus TCP/IP and OPC/UA communications. When a process requires less KPIs, the RQT Advanced and RQT Standard PLC controllers come standard with data on set point, actual temperature, pump running hours, temperature deviations and alarms, adjustable alarm delay and trackable heat contactor life. The RQT Series temperature controllers are available from ¾ to 10 HP, 0 kW to 48 kW, in single- or dual-zone configurations.
