At Fakuma 2024, Oerlikon HRSflow showcases new valve gate end rings for its Tp and Vp nozzle series, which are specifically developed for technical applications. It also introduces the T-flow and V-flow HRS controllers. Beyond its own stand, the company is running systems at the booths of Boy Machines and Haitian.

The new valve gate external end ring for the Tp and Vp nozzle series debuts, along with the new end ring through the cavity (TTC) for the Tp nozzle series. Designed to process engineering polymers such as PA6/PA66, PBT, POM, PPA and PPS, while targeting applications like gears and structural parts for automotive, electronics and appliances, the new valve gate end rings provide increased wear resistance and reduced material degradation by enabling a wider process window.

In addition, the company says the new external end ring for the Tp/Vp nozzle series enables easy restarting at low temperatures and balanced cavity filling. The company notes that the technology is well suited for applications demanding high structural properties, as well as clean aesthetic at the gate.

The new TTC for the Tp nozzle series applies special geometry for a more uniform temperature near the gate. The smaller 4-mm bushing diameter is said to enable greater flexibility in the injection point seat and simplifies maintenance.

Oerlikon HRSflow presents its latest T-Flow HRS and V-Flow HRS control units for sequential multizone control technology for timing and sequencing of valve-gate nozzles. Available V-Flow HRS control configurations can accommodate six to 30 valves in multiples of six, with the ability to manage up to four phases per cycle.

The company says the T-Flow HRS represents a new generation of thermal multizone controllers, with various configurations, accommodating six to 120 heating zones in multiples of six.

Already well applied in compact stack molds for thin-wall packaging, the Xd nozzle series is now targeting the buckets and pail market. Here, the actuator is positioned between the manifold and the nozzle, enabling precise inlet-nozzle alignment. In addition to enhancing the accuracy of the injection process, this arrangement also creates a more compact design and stack height.

At Boy Machines, a live demo features a Jestar medical demo mold running on a Boy 35E injection molding machine. The machine uses Oerlikon HRSflow’s multivalve-plate (MVP) technology to mold a conical blood filter from a 16-drop Multiflow system Sp series. At Haitian, a new ZE all-electric molding machine will produce a 1.2-g cable holder. Featuring the Oerlikon HRSflow Sa Series with a 16-drop open gate system, the hot runner is specifically designed to mold a 30% glass-filled PA66.
