Oerlikon HRSflow highlights an advancement to its Multiflow HRS multicavity line, the EYEgate HRS, a valve gate hot runner system solution. Engineered to optimize gate quality as well as increase lifespan, the company says this technology can enhance performance across a variety of applications.

Equipped with a diameter ranging from  3.00 to 3.5 mm, the EYEgate HRS offers a minimal footprint for precise injection point positioning — even in the event of complex geometries and difficult-to-reach gate locations.

According to the company, the technology boasts a specially designed pin guide system to guarantee permanent pin-gate alignment. This ultimately increases the end ring’s lifespan. This solution is well suited for applications up to 20 g and is readily available for both the Sp and Tp nozzle series.

Moldmakers can benefit from time savings in utilizing this technology as the gate is already integrated into the end ring. This reduces the need for gate area machining, ultimately cutting down on the time needed for the moldmaking process.

Another key aspect to consider is the ease of maintenance the technology affords. If the gate needs repairs or even replacement, the end ring — which contains important, high-tolerance machining — can easily be replaced without the need for remachining the cavity insert. This reduces maintenance time and saves costs associated with production downtime.

The EYEgate solution is compatible with a wide range of materials, including but not limited to PC, PMMA, PP, PE, ABS, ASA, SMMA, SAN, thermoplastic elastomers and quite a few sustainable resins.

The inner profile of the tip offers enhanced color changing capabilities and performance, enabling continuous material flow without compromising at difficult-to-reach points.
