Arburg Celebrates First Graduating Class from Mexican Training Program

A collaboration between the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores Monterrey (TEC de Monterrey) and Arburg has resulted in 16 participants receiving a diploma following completion of a four-month academic training course. The injection molding machine supplier, which has a longstanding subsidiary in Mexico, offers this four-month academic training course in conjunction with TEC de Monterrey to provide basic and advanced training for qualified Mexican personnel. The company notes that interested individuals from the local plastics industry can learn content that is “practice orientated and concise.”

The participants from the first training cohort worked on four different projects, expanding knowledge in areas like production efficiency, sustainability, bioplastics, improvement management, modernization of plastics processing and digitalization. Managers from Arburg's Mexico branch and the GiTamsa Technical Innovation Centre in Querétaro provided feedback to the students on their presentations, as well as recommendations and best practices they can implement directly in their respective companies.

Arburg says the goal is to establish the “Diplomado” training program as a unique course focused on students gaining theoretical and practical knowledge. In addition to training in plastic injection molding technology and processes, the course involves training managers with a global business outlook that enables modernization and digitalization processes for their own production activities.

After the project presentations, Carlos Ibarra, director of continuing education at the TEC de Monterrey, as well as Managing Director Mario Rodríguez and Commercial Director Edgar Calderon of Arburg Mexico praised the graduates for their pursuit of more knowledge and advancement of the local industry. Each of the graduates was awarded his or her professional certificate, and the event concluded with a celebratory toast to the new plastics specialists.
