Haidlmair Invests in New U.S. Location
After selling its stake in a Canadian toolmaker in 2021, the Austrian moldmaker once again has a North American presence in Charlotte.
Haidlmair will share space with German moldmaker Pfaff Molds at that company’s facility in Charlotte, N.C. Haidlmair established a U.S. service center in 2012 before purchasing Tesan Mould (Concord, Ont.) in 2015, and consolidating operations into that space. It sold that business back to the original owner in 2021, and has spent the time since trying to find the best spot for a U.S. operation. It has come to an agreement with German moldmaker Pfaff Molds to utilize open space in its facility for production in a new cooperative agreement.
In a release, Mario Haidlmair said his company sees the North American region as having “huge potential”. Initially, the new location will be used as a sales office and service center, but the company is planning for mold production to begin in the medium term, with workers to be recruited and trained.
