Sweden’s antimicrobial manufacturer Polygiene, through its indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary U.K.-based Addmaster has acquired U.K.-based SteriTouch from the privately owned English company Radical Materials Limited. The move will significantly expand the company’s antimicrobial additives offerings for plastics, coatings and paints.

From commodity PE and PP to engineering resins such as nylons, PC/ABS and PPS, SteriTouch offers standard masterbatches that reportedly provide good levels of antimicrobial performance. The company boasts that whether for injection or compression molding, extrusion or calendaring, their additives and masterbatches require no changes to your manufacturing process and provide excellent protection against bacteria, biofilm, fungi and mold.

The acquisition of SteriTouch is fully in line with our new growth strategy and the obvious synergies with Addmaster’s Biomaster anti-microbial business, makes this a very welcome addition to the group", said Polygiene CEO Ulrika Björk.

Said Nick Corlett, one of the founders of Radical Materials,“We have enjoyed a friendly competitive relationship with the Addmaster team for many years and have always held them in high regard. The antimicrobial sector is growing rapidly, and we are delighted for SteriTouch to join the Polygiene group, where we expect it to continue to flourish.”
