Modular Chiller Applies Tank-Leveling Algorithm
Delta T Systems says its new Modular Chiller units utilize a tank-leveling algorithm that can replace outdated and inefficient central chillers.
Delta T Systems has launched a new line of Modular Chiller units with built in variable-speed pumps and tanks, as well as a tank-leveling algorithm that allows manufacturers to eliminate the need for a separate pump tank. Delta T says this achieves lower costs, energy savings and reduced risk of production downtime.
Featuring redundant VFD pumps integrated in each unit, the chillers make it possible to eliminate the need for a central pump tank and a separate pump for hot- and cold-water processes. By eliminating the need for a central pump tank, the system’s installation costs are made significantly lower.
Other important aspects of the chiller line include a modular design and integrated system to save money and reduce its footprint, as well as simplify installation, with greater flexibility in the configuration. Redundant pump controls in each unit increase the reliability of the system, while variable-speed chillers can reduce electrical consumption by up to 50% over fixed-speed models. All units are built using non-ferrous materials to prevent corrosion, and they are available in both water- and air-cooled versions.
The chillers support up to 14 units in parallel with a total potential cooling capacity of up to 840 tons. All modular units include an integrated PLC and HMI for redundancy, and the controls can be configured to a single main control for all modular units, with the ability to re-assign individual chillers as needed. The system’s adaptive touch-screen controls are Industry 4.0 compatible and allow remote monitoring.
Delta T’s modular chillers can support up to 14 units in parallel.
